Stephens and Choi earn Fight of the Night bonuses at UFC St. Louis

North American and South Korean had good performances in a duel that lasted just two rounds

The main attraction of UFC St. Louis, the first Ultimate event of the year, took the Fight of the Night award. The featherweight fight between Jeremy Stephens and Doo Ho Choi, won by the experienced North American, earned the winner and loser an extra check of US$50, given to those with the best performances in each event.

The first round was practically all by the South Korean, who used low kicks and jabs to prevent his opponent from finding distance and becoming frustrated. In the second round, however, Stephens went up and cornered Choi at times, eventually getting the knockout.

In addition to the two members of the main fight, two more athletes received bonuses. Both Darren Elkins and Marco Polo Reyes also took home an extra check for $50. The American faced the former lightweight Michael Johnson and, after taking a loss in the initial round, he managed to put the fight down and submit his rival with a rear naked choke. The Mexican needed exactly one minute to settle the invoice against Matt frevola with a tremendous knockout.
