In an interview with the MMA Junkie website, the American stated that the Brazilian is great for the division and that he has always admired him, even when he was considered an underdog.

“He (Pantoja) is great. I always praised him a lot, but I confess that I thought he was underestimated. He has a good grappling game and is strong. Very good chin. Pantoja is the best flyweight and I can’t wait to see who he fights next,” said Johnson.

The result extended Pantoja's legacy in the flyweight category (up to 56,7kg). The Brazilian reached the mark of five consecutive victories and remains undefeated since 2020. In his career, the Brazilian now has victories over names like Brandon Moreno , Matt Schnell and Manel Kape , in addition to a record of 27 wins and five losses.
