After expressing pessimism when discussing a possible return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) at UFC 300 , Nate Diaz received a comeback from an icon of the organization. Questioning the lack of worthy opponents, the " bad boy " was challenged by Dustin Poirier , former interim lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg) and a popular figure in the company.

" UFC 300 would be cool, but there's no one for me to fight," Diaz wrote on his X profile , formerly Twitter.

Upon learning of Nate's action, Poirier took no time in rebutting the veteran. On the same social network, ‘Diamante’ offered himself for the superfight.

“We’re going to fight five rounds,” he replied.

A possible confrontation between Diaz and Dustin would not be an unprecedented conversation in the organization. In 2018, the fighters had a fight scheduled, but, after an injury to ‘Diamante’, the fight ended up cancelled.

A popular phenomenon in Ultimate, Diaz left the organization after the end of his contract, in 2022. The athlete, however, continues to enjoy prestige in the company and enjoys good morale with Dana White and his team.
