Bellator and ONE Championship icon Ben Askren expressed his discomfort with Tony Ferguson 's dramatic run of form . After witnessing the 'Boogeyman's' seventh consecutive career loss, the former fighter 'joined the ranks' and advised the veteran to retire. Thus, he joins names like Dana White and Daniel Cormier , who have publicly called for the American's retirement.

“He (Ferguson) insists he wants to keep fighting. Is it a financial issue? I don’t know, but Paddy (Pimblett, Tony’s last opponent) doesn’t seem that good. He isn’t. And Tony couldn’t keep him off his back. He’s a wrestler. He grew up doing that. He knows how to stand up. (…) Maybe take him down. Paddy isn’t an elite wrestler. You should be able to take that kid down,” Askren said in an interview with ' Middle Easy ', analyzing Ferguson’s performance at UFC 296.

Even worried about the negative retrospect, Ben doesn't forget his respect for Tony's career in professional MMA. The former Bellator and ONE Championship champion, however, believes that the American needs to retire from the sport.

“His trajectory is insane. He's already won 13 straight, or whatever he claims. Now, he has seven consecutive defeats. You need to retire, friend”, he concluded.
