With her sights set on Kayla Harrison and nearing retirement, Cris Cyborg has received a serious challenge. Days after indicating her desire to hang up her gloves soon, the Brazilian legend has become the target of Claressa Shields , a multi-time world boxing champion in the middleweight division. In an interview with ' MMA Junkie ', the athlete explained her desire to test herself against the Curitiba native in mixed martial arts.

“This fight (against Cyborg) is the scariest for me in MMA. It would be Cris Cyborg against me. She is the best of all time in MMA and I am the best of all time in boxing. We have several world titles,” declared Shields.

A reference in boxing, Claressa is an old acquaintance of Curitiba. A few years ago, the Brazilian had help from the North American in training to sharpen her striking.

Last week, Cyborg, 38, admitted she is close to retiring from professional MMA. With plans to become a mother, the Curitiba native revealed that a fight against Kayla Harrison could represent her last commitment in the sport.
