UFC presenter and comedian Nina-Marie Daniele, better known as Nina Drama, caused a major controversy on Wednesday night (December 27th) by playing a prank on MMA fans.

She announced on her Instagram Stories that she was going to reveal a bombshell fight for UFC 300 , along with the organization's president, Dana White. However, it was all just a joke to promote Power Slap, a slap-in-the-face event organized by the president.

The prank was not well received by internet users, who expected a real announcement. Many criticized Nina Drama for disrespecting fans and fighters, and for false advertising. Some even asked for her to be fired from the UFC, or for her to be slapped in the face by a female fighter. Others, however, defended the presenter, saying that the presenter just wanted to make a joke and that she had no bad intention.

Dana White, who participated in the joke, tried to defuse the situation and calm the fans. He did a live stream on his Instagram and said he would make new fight announcements for UFC 300 , which is scheduled for April 2024 and already has three confirmed fights: Jiri Prochazka vs. Aleksandar Rakic , Calvin Kattar vs. Aljamain Sterling , and Bo Nickal vs. Cody Brundage.
