Deiveson Figueiredo wasted no time after his victorious debut in the UFC bantamweight division (up to 61,2kg) . The former flyweight champion (up to 56,7kg) is already eyeing the belt in the new division and has a target in mind: the current champion Sean O'Malley.

Deiveson, who defeated Rob Font by unanimous decision at UFC Austin in early December, stated in an interview with The MMA Hour that he considers himself the "antivirus" for O'Malley, who has a title defense scheduled against Marlon Vera at UFC 299 in March.

“I think he has something to worry about. I am the original. And if he is the virus, I am the antivirus for him. I am ready to face whoever they want to put against me. The first name that comes to mind would be Sean O'Malley , so, besides him, whoever they have put against me,” he said.

Sean O’Malley criticized Deiveson Figueiredo’s debut

O'Malley, for his part, didn't seem impressed with Figueiredo's performance against Rob Font . In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the American mocked the Brazilian's debut in the bantamweight division.
