Michael Chandler hopes that UFC president Dana White can convince Conor McGregor to be a 'man of his word' and return to fighting in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The American, who once rivaled the Irishman on The Ultimate Fighter 31, was encouraged by the president's announcement of a potential fight in the organization.

In a post on 'X' (formerly Twitter), the former title challenger even mocked Conor, who had prepared a documentary to announce his return to the octagon but, since then, has not yet announced when his long-awaited comeback will be. He is expected to headline UFC 300 in April.

“I heard there was a meeting in Abu Dhabi or Dubai tonight. I hope Dana can convince Conor McGregor to be a man of his word, but we all make statements that sometimes we can’t stand by. It’s human nature. I can’t blame him for that. Imagine saying it’s the greatest comeback in the history of combat sports, making a fake documentary about it, and never coming back,” he wrote.

Chandler got excited about Dana White

Chandler's publication came after Dana White gave some indications that he is negotiating with the Irish star. In a live broadcast on Instagram, the organization's president revealed that he spoke with Notório, who is in Dubai, and that he hopes to resolve something soon.

“He and I are going to sort something out soon. We were talking. There’s more (announcement) coming this week for UFC 300. You (fans) are very aggressive. There will be more fights for UFC 300 next week, don’t worry,” said White, without giving further details.

The expectation is that McGregor could return to the octagon at the historic UFC 300 , which will take place on April 13, 2024, in Las Vegas. The event will mark a new era for the franchise, which has already held memorable editions in numbers 100 and 200.
