Interim heavyweight champion, Tom Aspinall 'forgets' Jon Jones and aims for a duel with Brazilian tormentor

The English fighter temporarily gave up on the MMA legend and turned his target to Curtis Blaydes, who already defeated him in 2022

Interim heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg), Tom aspinall seems to have given up on a duel with Jon Jones, at least for a while. On his YouTube channel, the English fighter 'forgot' the current owner of the linear belt and asked Ultimate for a rematch against Curtis blaydes, who comes from a victory over the Brazilian Jailton Malhadinho.

“I would like to fight (Curtis) Blaydes because when I fought him I got injured and that means technically he won and I don't like that. I want to be the winner, not Blaydes. So, all due respect to him and everything, he's a good guy, but professionally, I owe him a beating. That’s what I want to do next,” Aspinall said.


Heavyweight standouts, Aspinal and Blaydes have already faced each other in the most famous octagon in the world. The duel took place in UFC London, held in July 2022, however, the North American emerged victorious just 15 seconds into the fight after the English prospect injured his knee in a low kick attempt.
