Despite all the controversy in the duel with Bruno Blindado at UFC Atlantic City, the coach of the former middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg) was satisfied with his pupil's performance. In an interview with 'MMA Fighting', Ray Longo, leader of the 'All-American' team, praised the North American's performance even after the serious injury suffered in 2021.

“Yes, I was definitely worried. But anyway, as a coach, even if it was a technical decision, I'm happy with what I saw. For a guy who went through a horrible injury like him, came back like this at 39 and is going to be 40 in a few months, I thought it was fantastic. It's a victory for me, no matter what happened.”, said Ray Longo.

Last Saturday (30), Weidman won again after just over three years. The 'All-American' beat the Brazilian Bruno Blindado in a controversial technical decision. The confrontation was marked by some illegal blows by the North American, which generated intense complaints from the Brazilian athlete and the entire MMA community in the days following the event.

At 39 years old, the 'All-American' has an MMA record of 16 wins and seven setbacks. In his career, the North American has already beaten names like Anderson Silva (twice), Vitor belfort, Lyoto Machida e Demian Maia.
