Alongside his trainer Tim Welch, O'Malley appears running across the mat simulating a possible strategy to be applied by Merab during the fight. In addition to running, the champion surprised the coach with sudden counterattacks and flying knees to prevent takedown attempts.

Expecting to be announced as the next challenger for the belt, Dvalishvili also uses social media to fuel rivalry against the American. Riding on 10 consecutive victories, the Georgian expresses confidence that he will become the new bantamweight champion and avenge the defeat suffered by his best friend and training partner aljamain sterling.
