Scary! Alex Poatan's rival at UFC 300, Jamahal Hill has an impressive record against Brazilians

In four fights against Brazilian athletes in his career, the North American never left the octagon defeated

Before even stepping into the Octagon to face Jamahal hill No. UFC 300, Alex Poatán will have to deal with an uncomfortable retrospect that weighs in favor of the North American. Since becoming a professional MMA athlete in September 2017, the former light heavyweight champion has faced four Brazilians and has never been defeated.

The first Brazilian that Hill faced was Klindson Abreu, in May 2020. Despite having knocked out his rival in the first round, Jamahall saw the result converted to a 'no-contest' after being caught in a doping test for marijuana use. Less than two years later, in his first main fight in Ultimate, the American scored a brutal knockout on Johhny Walker.


Six months later, another knockout from Hill. Now, against the former light heavyweight challenger Thiago Marreta. In January 2023, Jamahal agreed to come to Brazil for the biggest fight of his career: against the veteran Glover Teixeira for the then vacant light heavyweight belt. The American beat the former champion for 25 minutes and emerged victorious in a calm unanimous decision from the judges.

Next Saturday (13), in the historic UFC 300, Poatan will try to break the positive record of Jamahal hill against Brazilian athletes. The highly anticipated clash will be held at the T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas (USA).
