Poatan's rival in kickboxing, César Almeida reveals the promise made by the champion: 'He will have to keep it'

Protagonist of a trilogy with Poatan, Cesinha spoke to SUPER LUTAS about the possibility of facing his rival in the UFC

In the same way that rivalry with Israel adesanya built in the days of kickboxing served as a shortcut to Alex Poatán towards the top of the UFC, the history with Poatan himself in striking could give Cesar Almeida a shorter path in the organization.

Even though he debuted as a middleweight in Ultimate, just like his rival, the São Paulo native is willing to move up a category for a fourth encounter.


“Of course, without a doubt (I would move up to light heavyweight). Having the first MMA fight between him and me, in three, four fights, would be very interesting”, he declared.

Finally, Cesinha Almeida joked and made herself available to replace Jamahal hill and face Alex Poatán already in the UFC 300, this Saturday (13).

“I'm here in Las Vegas this week and if Jamahal (Hill) doesn't make weight, I'm already at weight (laughs)”, he joked.
