“I saw it and I liked it. Amanda retired early. I like that she's intrigued by this fight. I loved this and I love Amanda. She and I have an incredible relationship. I think she is the 'GOAT' in all of women's combat sports. If Kayla manages to win the belt, it would be fun to see her come back to try and win it again. I think what Amanda was saying was, 'Interesting, we'll see how this plays out. If she wins the belt, maybe I'll come back.' This is what I understood. I think she wants to come back and see if she can get the belt back. That was brilliant. She's already seen as the best and then, you have this new scary woman who destroyed Holm. Can she win the title? If she can, for Amanda to come back and possibly win this fight, it would be impossible to deny her,” said Dana.

Amanda and Kayla were once teammates at American Top Team, but the Brazilian decided to leave the gym in 2021 after feeling uncomfortable with the North American's public statements about facing her in the future for the UFC belt.

In his debut in Ultimate, in history UFC 300, Kayla was not aware of the former champion Holly holm and beat her rival by submission in the second round.
