“I had broken my right foot two weeks before. It's better now. After three weeks, a bone callus begins to form. For me to be training 100% it would take six weeks. And there have been three. I believe that, after three more weeks, I am already training well. I just won't be kicking, but I'll be doing everything. Boxing, taking knees. I walk and, as it is healing, it still hurts,” said Poatan.

The injury, suffered during training with Rodolfo Bellato, generated great concern among the athlete's fans. On social media, the coolness shown by Poatan in dealing with the situation, even weeks before the fight for the belt, earned praise and admiration.
