Former UFC, Vitor belfort started a new chapter of the 'soap opera' about a possible boxing fight against Acelino Popó Freitas. In your profile on Instagram, the veteran reinforced his weight requirements and needled the four-time world champion. Understanding the Bahian's refusal to compete under adapted rules, the Brazilian took advantage of the video to offer the challenge to his former rival Wanderlei Silva.

“Take a look at the athletes you fight. The guys you're fighting aren't fighters. How does this promote the sport? How do you give joy by beating someone who has never fought? Popó, to finish, up to 88kg, I will box with you. I know you won't be putting on the 'Boxing Martial Arts' (BMA) gloves. If you pop, which I think is likely, I hear there's a 'Mad Dog' barking around. So, Dog, do you want to come and bite the bone?”, said Belfort, referring to Wanderlei Silva at the end of the speech.

Last week, Popó admitted the possibility of facing another opponent in the Fight Music Show 5. Without an agreement to fight Belfort, the Bahian seeks a rival to bid farewell to the 'noble art'.

Former UFC champion, Vitor has not competed since April 2023. On that occasion, the athlete crashed Ronaldo Jacare in a boxing challenge.
