Veteran ended his career in combat sports in clash between former UFC representatives

Challenger for the UFC welterweight belt (up to 77,1kg) in 2009, Thiago Pitbull ended his career in combat sports last weekend. In a fight in Bare Knuckle FC, bare-knuckle boxing, the Brazilian ended up being knocked out in the fight against Mike Perry. The outcome came in the first round.

In the images (see below), it is possible to follow the final moments of the dispute. Victim of a well-aimed cross from Perry, the Brazilian went to the canvas.


Even dazed, Thiago managed to stay on his feet. The referee, however, chose to stop the fight.

In 2021, Pitbull won the lightweight belt at Bare Knuckle by overcoming Ulysses Diaz. The athlete, however, did not defend his title.


Moments after the stumble in front of Mike Perry, Thiago confirmed his retirement. The Brazilian leaves competitions at the age of 40.
