Max Holloway prioritizes Ilia Topuria as his next rival, but admits seeking the lightweight belt next

Hawaiian seeks fight for featherweight title and does not rule out opportunity to become double champion

Days after winning the 'BMF' title at the UFC 300, Max Holloway reinforced the desire to challenge Ilia Topuria for the featherweight belt (up to 65,7kg.), a category he led between 2017 and 2019. High in the organization, the Hawaiian also admitted that he intends to seek the title of double champion of the company, with a future test in the lightweight division (up to 70,3kg. .).

“In a perfect world, I face Ilia Topuria and I win. Whoever is the lightweight champion, I will move up a category to face him and become a double champion”, said Holloway, in an interview with the podcast 'Joe Rogan Experience'.

Currently, the lightweight division is led by Islam Makahchev. The Russian star has an official confrontation against Dustin poirier for June 1st.

No UFC 300, Max surprised by brutalizing Justin gaethje. In a challenge valid for the 'BMF' belt, the Hawaiian went through a real battle and overcame the North American with an overwhelming knockout in the last second of the fight.


Holloway's crushing victory drew praise from his boss, Dana White. The athlete, however, did not have a confirmed confrontation with Ilia Topuria, current featherweight champion.
