Still angry about not getting a rematch against the middleweight champion (under 83,9kg) Dricus Du Plessis, Sean Strickland know that a good victory in UFC 302 could put him back in a title fight. In an interview with Ultimate's official YouTube channel, the former owner of the belt did not resort to provocations but promised to 'give him a beating' Paulo borrachinha next Saturday (01).

“I'm going to fight Borrachinha and it will be a good fight, but make no mistake. When you're in the top ten, you're just one punch away from being number one. So I'm going to delete it. We're just going to stand in the middle and trade, but I'm ready to die for what I want. It will be a war. I’m just going to beat the hell out of him,” Strickland said.

Number one in the middleweight rankings, 'Tarzan' is coming off a defeat in his last fight when he was dethroned by Dricus Du Plessis No. UFC 297, held in January. At 33 years old, Strickland has an MMA record of 28 wins and just six setbacks.

With an eye on a new title fight, Sean faces the Brazilian Paulo borrachinha in the co-main event of UFC 302, which takes place on Saturday night (01). The winner of the clash should be confirmed as the next challenger for the middleweight belt. The card will be held in Newark, New Jersey.
