“It’s really important to be more active again. Important in a professional sense, to maintain, to be able to continue, to be able to continue the work, damn important. I wasn't injured, I wasn't injured, so there was no reason not to continue and maintain the agenda, the calendar. Then, in conversation with the UFC and Tamara, they decided on this date in June. I thought it was a little close at first, but then I saw that I was ready, I was coming off a very good fight with Whittaker. Then I thought: 'Let's go, it'll work out'. I think I had about two months, about 40 days until the fight. A month or so. Then I accepted this challenge, which, at the time, was (Jared) Cannonier and the UFC changed to (Sean) Strickland”, said Borrachinha in an interview with 'Ag, Fight'.

In the co-main fight of UFC 302, which takes place next Saturday (01), Paulo borrachinha will measure forces with the former champion Sean Strickland. The winner of the clash must be confirmed as the next challenger for the middleweight belt.
