“There was some negotiation time and my manager came up with the name of the Randy Brown and with contract renewal. I didn't think twice. It's a great name, I think it has everything to brighten up this card. UFC 302. It was an opportunity that I grabbed with both hands. When I saw his name and the event it was going to be, I was very happy”, said the man from Paraná.

“I have to keep doing what I do well, always improving, of course. But of course it changes when you're a longer person, you need a whole strategy built around that. At CM System we had a structure that supported this type of adversary. One of his main weapons is using his wingspan. (…) I'm an opportunistic guy. An MMA athlete. There is no way to just put together a strategy and follow it, because there are adversities in the fight. During the fight I need to feel the right moment to approach or stay at a distance where I feel most comfortable”, he explained.

In the UFC since 2015, Elizeu Capoeira He had a great time in the organization between 2016 and 2019, a period in which he lined up and beat seven opponents and was part of the top-15 welterweights. The Curitiba native stated that he believes that a victory over Randy Brown it could be enough to return to the division's elite.

“I think whoever wins this fight has everything it takes to get back to the top-15. There's nowhere to run. (…) The objective is always to be as close to the title as possible. It’s the goal of most athletes and mine too”, he guaranteed.

Lastly, Elizeu Capoeira avoided predicting a specific outcome for the fight against Randy Brown, pointing out that the ideal ending is whatever results in his hand being raised by the referee at the end of the fight.

“The ideal outcome is to win, to come out victorious, regardless of what happens. Put up a good fight and therefore come away with victory. The ideal is to feel good, be well, do my job and be able to make the most of it. I always dedicate myself a lot, I don't stop training, I do great work with my team at CM System. I want to be well and I'm happy to be in the biggest organization, among the best athletes and once again showing my work. The ideal is to do my best so that the result comes in my favor”, he concluded.
