“Khabib came first and he will always be remembered for that, for what he did to the sport, how he represented Dagestan and implemented that style. He took over the sport, let's be honest. But his time is gone. It has passed, but Islam is a new and improved version. See the knockout on the head Alexander Volkanovsky. He's much, much softer on his feet. His grappling is as good as Khabib's or certainly up there. He's really shaping up to be a dominant champion. He feels it. He walks and talks with a certain 'bravado' and a certainty that doesn't come from confidence or ego. It comes from knowing what he’s capable of,” Bisping said.

In the main fight UFC 302, which takes place this Saturday (01), Islam makhachev will put the lightweight belt on the line for the third time against the experienced Dustin poirier, former linear champion of the category.
