Exclusive! Malhadinho opens up about change at UFC 302 and mentions the possibility of going to Paris to face Ciryl Gane

Brazilian comes face to face with Alexandr Romanov, but was 'demoted' to the preliminary card of the event

Escalated to face Alexander Romanov No. UFC 302, which takes place next Saturday (01), in Las Vegas, Jailton Malhadinho found himself facing an unexpected change on the card: now, the Brazilian was 'demoted' to the preliminary program. In an exclusive interview with SUPER FIGHTS, the Brazilian seemed calm with the change and assured that he was ready for the new challenge.

“It didn’t affect me. I was very calm. Regardless of anything, I'm going to have to fight anyway. I'll have to fight. I don't care about those things. I'm very focused, prepared. I studied a lot. Romanov is a southpaw guy, he wants to try grappling. It was like that in his last fights”, said the fighter.

With total focus on the fight, Malhadinho also took the opportunity to talk about the future in the organization and the ambition of coming face to face with Cyryl Gane, even if it means going to Paris, France.

“The UFC may or may not place it, but I will be available (to fight with Cyryl Gane). I'll be waiting. Leave it in the 'boss' hands for him to resolve. Who knows, maybe one day I can fight in Paris. I never fought there,” he added.

With a record of 17 wins and three losses, Malhadinho stands out for his quality inside the octagon. Hired by the UFC in 2020, the Brazilian quickly established himself as a promising name in the heavyweight division, racking up five consecutive victories. However, in his last fight, he suffered a setback to Curtis blaydes, which momentarily removed him from contention for the title of UFC.
