After another defeat, Borrachinha vents and promises to 'return to the old style': 'Ripping heads'

With just one victory in his last five fights, Borrachinha used social media to vent about his performance at UFC 302

Last Saturday (1), Paulo borrachinha suffered his second consecutive defeat, and the fourth in his last five appearances, losing in a split decision against Sean Strickland in the co-main event of UFC 302.

In a video published on the social network 'X' (formerly Twitter), Borrachinha demonstrated self-criticism when talking about his performance against Strickland, but also pointed out the high level of his recent opponents.

“Yes, Sean won. I didn't perform very well. I don't think he performed either, but at least he did enough to win, right? This is the second defeat in a row with three former champions: Rockhold, Whittaker and Sean. I won one and lost two”, said the Brazilian in the video.

After recognizing poor performance, Paulo borrachinha promised to 'return to the old style' and stated that he will go back to 'trying to take heads' instead of trying strategic approaches for the next fights.

“I'm going to bring the old Paulo back to rip heads and break up fights. I'm not a counterpuncher. I'm not that guy. I'm better when I move forward and try to break up fights and take heads off. (…) F*** scoring points or conserving energy. F*** it all. That’s the type of fighter I am and that people expect me to be”, he promised.
