After finishing Alexander Romanov with extreme ease to rediscover the path to victory on the preliminary card of the UFC 302, last Saturday (1), Jailton Malhadinho has already clearly defined what he intends to be his next step in the organization: a fight against Cyryl Gane, in Paris, France.

In a press conference given after the event, the Bahian, who had already asked for the fight in the Octagon, reaffirmed his desire to perform at the next UFC event in the French capital against the former interim champion.

“This week I saw the Statue of Liberty, now I want to see the Eiffel Tower. It just depends on him (Gane) to accept the fight. I will always be ready, just waiting for him to accept”, said Malhadinho.

Asked if he envisions a victory similar to that of Jon Jones about Cyryl Gane in last year's title fight, Jailton Malhadinho He stated that each fight is different, but that he feels capable of submitting the Frenchman.

“A fight is a fight. But let's look for the best. Finish the fight whether in the first, second, third, fourth or fifth rounds, if it is the main fight”, replied the Bahian.

Although it has not yet been confirmed, the trend is that the next UFC event in Paris will take place in September, as has been the case in the last two years. Malhadinho stated that he intends to use the next few months to recover from a knee injury and be prepared to perform on the card.

“During the fight I suffered a knee injury. I'll arrive in Brazil and see what happened, but nothing will happen. I will be prepared to fight in France. I want to fight in France and no one will take that out of my head”, he concluded.
