Khamzat Chimaev is out of UFC Saudi Arabia and Robert Whittaker has a new opponent confirmed

With the departure of the 'darling' from Ultimate, Ikram Aliskerov takes the heat and faces the former middleweight champion on June 22nd, in Riyadh

After much speculation in the last few hours, the departure of Khamzat Shimaev do UFC Saudi Arabia, which takes place on June 22nd. According to Ultimate's president, Dana White, the Russian Ikram Aliskerov will replace the Emirati as the former middleweight champion’s new rival (up to 83,9kg) Robert whittaker.

Current number three in the middleweight rankings, Whittaker is coming off an impressive victory over the Brazilian Paulo borrachinha No. UFC 298, held last February. At 33 years old, the former category champion has a record of 25 triumphs and seven setbacks in professional MMA.


Hired after participating in the Contender Series in 2022, Ikram Aliskerov won his two commitments in the organization so far, both by knockout, over phil hawes e Warlley alves. The Russian fighter is 31 years old and has a record as a professional of 15 positive results and just one negative result.

On June 22nd, the UFC will arrive in Saudi Arabia for the first time. The card will be held in Riyadh and, so far, features three Brazilians: Johnny Walker, Joilton Peregrino and Brendson Ribeiro.
