Former Bellator lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg), Patricky Pitbull is ready for his second challenge in the Professional Fighters League (PFL). This Friday (21), in an event to be held in Salt Lake City, Utah, he will face compatriot Bruno Robusto in the second round of the American organization's lightweight GP. Just like Robusto, Patricky also lost in his debut and knows he needs to win by knockout or submission in the first round, in addition to hoping for some combinations of results, to advance to the tournament playoffs.

“I'm training to win in the first round. But, of course, the most important thing is to come away with victory. I'm feeling really good. I haven't had a training camp as good as this in over two years, so I'm very happy and confident that I'll achieve this victory. I believe that my opponent will also want to go all out to win in the first round. He's a striking guy, very aggressive, but I'm prepared for anything. I have more experience and I'm very good at Jiu-Jitsu, which is one of the tools I can use in this fight. I want to continue in the tournament, so I’m going to do everything I can to win in the first round”, said the native.

To win again and end the uncomfortable sequence of two defeats and, of course, continue in the tournament, Patricky Pitbull invested heavily in training for this fight. In addition to studying the game of his opponent, who has 16 victories in MMA, nine of them by knockout, he arrived almost a month in advance to the United States to train and adapt to the altitude of Salt Lake City, which is located at almost 1300 meters above sea level.

“I came earlier to adapt better and not feel the effects of the altitude on the fight. I've already adapted, so I don't have any more worries about that. The training sessions were great. I brought my brother to help me and we even did sparring, something that hadn't happened for many years. Of course, it was without one wanting to kill the other, which was what happened (laughs). We train smart. He is helping me a lot as always. My family arrived this week. This is also important, because when we are away from our family for so long, we feel a lot of pain. Now I'm 100% complete and happy, and I'm going in search of this victory”, concluded the native of Rio Grande do Norte.
