Winner of the PFL heavyweight (up to 120,2 kg) tournament in 2023, Renan Problem won the champions challenge against Ryan bader, from Bellator, at the beginning of the year and, since then, he has been waiting for his opportunity to face Francis Ngannou, former UFC heavyweight champion.

In a recent press conference, the Goiás player stated that he has already 'cut the corners' with the PFL and is just waiting for the Cameroonian's availability to confirm the long-awaited duel.

“I've been ready for this fight since the fight against Ryan bader. I've already sat down with the PFL, we've reviewed my contract, we're past this conversation. Right now we are just waiting for final word on the date,” he said.

Former UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou left Ultimate at the beginning of 2023 after a long contractual dispute with the organization. In Problema's opinion, a victory over someone with a resume as vast as the Cameroonian's could once and for all consolidate his name among the big names in the category.

PUBLICITY:

"I feel that Francis Ngannou It's a great name. He achieved a lot. He has many big names on his resume. I feel like a victory over him puts me at the top”, he analyzed.

Since leaving the UFC, Francis Ngannou saw action twice, both in professional boxing, in defeats against former world champions Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, the last of which received a brutal knockout. In the opinion of Renan Problem, however, the setbacks in the noble art do not change the value of the Cameroonian in MMA.

PUBLICITY:

“Francis went there and faced a boxing specialist. It was an admirable defeat. I feel that now he will return to his roots in MMA and will come with everything to try to get back on the path to victory”, he concluded.
