Before carrying out the long-awaited rematch against Jiri Prochazka No. UFC 303 this Saturday (29th), Alex Poatán opened the game and analyzed his first fight against the Czech, in November 2023. Winner by knockout, the Brazilian recognized the danger presented by his rival in the first round and described the feeling of confronting him in the Octagon in New York (USA).

“First round, very tough. Me trying to hurt like I've always been doing. Hurting my legs, trying to catch my hand. He attacks a lot, he's a guy who doesn't really understand the game, what's going to happen, we have to be smart all the time. He put me down, but I kept calm. I think he spent a little more gas than I did (in the first round)”, said Poatan in a video documented by the UFC.

As he continued speaking, Poatan recalled the moment he scored a knockout over Prochazka.

“When it went to the second, he saw that it would be a very difficult fight. I knew he would be more aggressive because he pushed harder than me. In that last moment, when he was hunting, I think he got a little scared and wanted to try to finish the fight. I managed to defend and came back with a right and a cross, he fell feeling the blow and I managed to knock him out with my elbows there”, he recalled.
