The victory of Diego lopes about Dan Ige in the co-main event of UFC 303, last Saturday (29), after the entire troubled process of weighing in and changing opponents hours in advance was not enough to convince Henry Cejudo that the Brazilian is ready for the highest level of competition at featherweight (up to 65,7 kg).

During a recent edition of the 'Pound 4 Pound' podcast, with Kamaru Usman, Cejudo stated that, in fact, the performance of Diego lopes against Dan Ige raised doubts in him regarding the Brazilian's ability to work with someone like Brian ortega, who was originally going to be his opponent, but left the card due to health issues hours before the fight.

“I’m not so convinced that Diego lopes would really be ready for a guy like Brian ortega. Was I impressed? A little. But now they have a little more video and can see him face other challengers, guys who are ranked in the top 15 or top 10. I think Diego lopes You need to take it easy and keep facing a lot of these other guys before you face someone in the top 10 or even the top 5. We have to remember, Brian ortega is number 3. Keep facing guys at your level before going after a guy like Brian ortega”, advised the former flyweight (up to 56,7 kg) and bantamweight (up to 61,2 kg) champion.

Regardless of the opinion of Henry Cejudo, Diego has already expressed his interest in rescheduling the fight against Brian ortega. The Brazilian pointed to UFC 306, on September 14th, at the 'Esfera' in Las Vegas, as the ideal event for the duel.
