Second place in the lightweight rankings (up to 70,3kg), Charles of the Bronx made it clear that he still hasn't given up on his dream of winning the category belt again. Chute Boxe athlete Diego Lima said that money will not be the most important factor when choosing his next fight and reinforced his desire to fight again for the most important title in MMA.

“If it were for money, I would have fought Makhachev when I had a cut on my face, I would have accepted the fight. It's not the money. In reality, I want the title. Who is this guy? I think I'm one or two fights away (from a title shot). So, who is the guy that if I beat now I will take a giant step towards the title? There's no point in saying who the guy is. The question is: who is the guy that the UFC wants to give me and will this guy, if God blesses and I win, take me to the title? That question remains for the UFC: who is the guy?” asked Do Bronx in an interview with 'Ag. Fight'.
Despite his desire, Charles is not going through a good moment and comes from a record of two defeats in his last three fights, to Islam makhachev e Arman Tsarukyan. The former lightweight champion still has no date or confirmed opponent for his return to the Octagon.
