Hungry for a new fight, Blachowicz sends a message to Poatan and appears as an option in the UFC: 'I've never lost a rematch'

Polish man goes to social media to suggest a new meeting with a Brazilian; he lost his first fight via split decision

Former light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg), Jan Blachowicz has not yet digested defeat suffered for Alex Poatán in July 2023. The veteran, who saw the Brazilian's victory over Jiri Prochazka No. UFC 303, an event held last Saturday (29), took the opportunity to ask for a new chance for revenge in the organization.

“I never lost a rematch. And I won’t,” wrote Blachowicz on his official account on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter).

Jan, who has 40 fights in professional MMA, had only two rematches in his entire career in the UFC, against Jimi Manuwa and Corey anderson. In both fights, he had the opportunity to get revenge and achieved it, by decision and knockout, respectively.

Poatan and Blachowicz faced each other in the UFC 291, held in July 2023. The duel marked the Brazilian's debut in the light heavyweight division. After 15 minutes of a balanced confrontation, the Glover Teixeira was declared victorious in a controversial split decision by the judges.


After the defeat to Poatan, Blachowicz would face Serbian Aleksandad Rakic ​​last January, however, the Pole suffered an injury and had to be removed from the fight. The former light heavyweight champion still does not have a new date or rival defined for his return to the Octagon.
