Olympic gold medalist, boxer Robson Conceição made history, once again, last Saturday night (06). The Bahian fighter beat North American O'Shaquie Foster in a split decision from the judges (116-112, 112-116 and 115-113) and became the World Boxing Council (WBC) super featherweight champion. The historic combat took place in the city of Newark, New Jersey (USA).

“When I promise, I keep it. Esther, my love, is all yours. I promised, dad kept it. It's about never giving up. I am very persistent in my daily struggle, so I never give up until I reach my goals. And this happened here today, thank you my God, thank you team, thank you family. We are world champions”, said Robson still in the ring after the fight.

The decision in favor of the Brazilian was quite controversial as Robson landed fewer strikes (76 x 435), fewer jabs (27 x 263) and fewer significant strikes (49 x 172). Furthermore, Foster also starred in the main moments of the confrontation.

This was the fourth time that Robson Conceição competed for a world belt in his career. In the first, he ended up defeated by Oscar Valdez in a very controversial decision by the judges in 2021. Afterwards, the Brazilian was dominated by Shakur Stevenson in the decision and ended up drawing with Mexican Emanuel Navarrete, in November.

At 35 years old, Robson has a professional boxing record of 19 victories, nine of which were by knockout, two defeats and one draw.
