"I think in aljamain sterling x Diego lopes in the 'Sphere'. This fight has a special touch. Movsar Evloev, I don't know what he's doing. I gave him a date and he hasn't accepted it yet, he's making all kinds of excuses. Either you fight me on my terms, or I fight someone else. Then, Diego lopes, if you want, let’s make it happen at the Sphere, September 14th,” Sterling wrote.

Twelfth in the featherweight rankings, Diego has been standing out in the organization and is experiencing great momentum thanks to four consecutive victories. In his last match, the Brazilian beat the North American Dan Ige in the unanimous decision of the judges, in the main fight of the UFC 303, held on June 29th.

Despite having only one fight in the under-66kg division, Sterling finds himself in eighth place in the group rankings. His debut in the new weight range took place in history UFC 300, when the 'Funk Master' hit Calvin kattar by points, in a dominant performance.
