It was just a dream, a bold plan that many doubted. But stop Bobby Green, or rather King, from now on, the fantasy has become reality. The UFC lightweight fighter (up to 70,3 kg.) made his name change official at the notary's office, sealing the definitive change to the nickname that had been with him for years as a mantra for overcoming his career.

The decision, announced by the athlete himself on his social networks, was not just an aesthetic change. More than a new name, 'King', for the veteran, represents the journey of a man who rose from the rubble to become king in his own octagon.

“I know I worked very hard on Bobby Green. But the point was to show that you go from nothing to a king”, wrote King in the caption of the post that made the change official.

King Green's life story is marked by challenges. Raised in orphanages and foster homes, he faced the harsh realities of poverty and lack of opportunities. With an aggressive and exciting fighting style, the North American won the admiration of the public and paved his way in the UFC. At 37 years old, he has 32 wins, 15 losses, one draw and one unsuccessful fight in his career.

Now, with the new name officially registered, 'King' is preparing for a new chapter in his journey. On July 27th, the fighter will go up to the Octagon at UFC 304, in Manchester, England, to come face to face with Paddy Pimblett.
