Despite the victory over Michael Page No. UFC 303, Ian Gary had to go through some setbacks behind the scenes in its preparation. According to his coach Diego Lima, a member of the Chute Boxe team received an attempted bribe to deliver information about the Irishman's camp and refused the offer out of loyalty to the team.

“It was with someone from Chute Boxe. This (bribe) is true. It wasn't even supposed to leak, to be honest. But Ian ended up speaking at the press conference. But deep down he's right. Unfortunately, the jiu-jitsu guy from Page got in touch with one of our professional athletes, asking what Garry's training was like, what his strategy was. Information to try to privilege Page. But our athlete promptly said: 'It's good money, I really need it, but I'm from Chute Boxe, our loyalty is priceless, it's my family. There is no value that would make me say something about one of our athletes who is going to fight'. I know (how much was offered), but I prefer not to say. But it was good money. It's an unpleasant and delicate situation, but it did happen. It's a shame that this happens in sport”, said Diego in an interview with 'Ag. Fight'

Inside the Octagon, on the main card of the UFC 303, Garry delivered a good performance against Page and emerged victorious in the judges' unanimous decision, extending his unbeaten run in professional MMA to 15 consecutive victories.
