Almost six months after an accident that left him unable to move, former Bellator fighter Ryan Curtis was surprised to be filmed in a gym performing a series of exercises. The Irishman, who had serious injuries to his back, neck and spine, showed progress when throwing punches on a punching bag.

After undergoing emergency surgery, Ryan Curtis saw his life change drastically. With the loss of movement in his legs and left arm, the athlete faced an arduous battle in search of recovery. The initial deadline was for the athlete to not even leave the hospital during the period that resulted in his return to training.

The video of the exercises was released by doctor Ryan Bachik, who has been closely monitoring the fighter's progress. The recovery had the support of renowned fighters such as Conor McGregor, who supported his compatriot and, at the time, donated around €25 (around R$154, at the exchange rate at the time).

Ryan Curtis, who has a professional history in MMA since 2015 with stints at Bellator and Cage Warriors, is still in the process of recovering and overcoming the trauma that almost made it impossible for him to fight again.
