Alex Poatan responds to rival's provocation from his kickboxing days: 'He seems a little lost'

In a comment on social media, Poatan responded to recent provocations from Russian Artem Vakhitov

UFC light heavyweight champion (up to 93 kg) and one of the most popular names in the sport today, Alex Poatán he is more than used to provocations from rivals. The most recent of these came from Artem Vakhitov, responsible for the Brazilian's last defeat in kickboxing and has already been duly answered.

The Russian, who pointed out supposed weaknesses in Alex Poatán and expressed interest in breaking the tie against the Brazilian in the UFC Octagon, he received the champion's response through a comment on the publication of the 'MMA Fighting' portal on 'Instagram regarding the matter.

“Hey brother, be careful with the people who are giving you this idea. The same person advising you tried to do the same to me, but I didn't do it because I'm not stupid. Everyone knows they gave you the victory because Glory knew it would be my last fight in the organization and they didn't want me to leave with the belt! For you to put yourself out there like this, it seems like you're a bit lost and almost certainly don't have a manager. It is what I think. You should send a message to Joinha (Jorge Guimarães), because I think he can help you. Call it”, replied Poatan.

Alex Poatán and Artem Vakhitov faced each other on two occasions in the Glory ring. In the first of them, the Brazilian emerged victorious in a split decision from the judges, winning the light heavyweight belt and becoming the organization's first double champion. In the rematch, eight months later, the Russian got revenge in a majority decision.

Artem Vakhitov is 33 years old and made his professional MMA debut in 2023. The Russian lost his first professional fight due to an injury suffered in the first round, but recovered with two knockout victories in January and February of this year.
