Eyeing a career Tony Ferguson in Ultimate, Henry Cejudo expressed dissatisfaction with the veteran's presence on the UFC Abu Dhabi main card. In the former champion's view, the organization should prioritize other rising talents in place of his compatriot, who today has suffered seven consecutive setbacks. El Cucuy performs this Saturday (03).

“Particularly, I don’t like it. I'm surprised. I think you have to give other people the opportunity to be on the main cards too. Tony had his last, what, seven fights or six fights or something crazy (defeats) in a row. I think, man, he's not the same Tony that fought with Kevin Lee before that. But he’s not the same guy,” Cejudo declared on the channel Pound4Pound.

In addition to not defending the veteran's presence on main cards at the moment, Cejudo expressed low hopes for the athlete's possible triumph at UFC Abu Dhabi against Michael chiesa.

“I think Tony is on his way out. I think if the UFC wants to give him a better fight, they should match him with someone whose style suits him a little better. I think Chiesa is stronger, especially if he moves up a category. I think Chiesa is bigger, stronger and hasn't suffered the same level of punishment as Tony. He’s never been knocked out like Tony and, yeah, I think this is a bad fight,” he concluded.

The biggest underdog of the event, Ferguson states that he is not considering retirement and reveals that he has extraordinary plans for his future in MMA. Heading to welterweight (up to 77,1kg), the fighter faces Michael chiesa in Abu Dhabi, this Saturday (03).
