Dana White, president of the UFC, does not hide his admiration for Alex Poatán. In an interview with 'TNT Sports', the top hat highlighted the Brazilian's rapid rise in the octagon, who in just two years won two belts in different categories.

The feat of the current light heavyweight champion (up to 93 kg.), according to White, is even more impressive considering his origins in kickboxing and the initial distrust among MMA fans.

“It’s incredible what this guy has achieved. The speed with which Adesanya did it, and now Alex (Poatan), is phenomenal. Especially considering their history in kickboxing and successful transition to MMA. It’s unbelievable,” Dana said.

Poatan, 37 years old, began his MMA journey in 2015 and already has a respectable record. With an aggressive fighting style and devastating knockouts, the Brazilian has become one of the most feared fighters today, with 11 positive results and two negative results. His main triumphs include victories over big names like Israel adesanya, Jamahal hill e Jiri Prochazka.
