One of the most anticipated clashes in world MMA appears to have been postponed. Alex Poatán e Tom aspinall, two of the most feared knockout artists in the UFC, are unlikely to face each other anytime soon. The revelation came from the Englishman himself, who on his YouTube channel made it clear that, despite mutual interest, the duel is not in the immediate plans.
“Maybe we’ll meet next year. I have a lot of respect for Alex Pereira. If we are going to make it happen, it will be through the linear belt”, declared the Briton.

Poatan, who recently knocked out Jiri Prochazka and became one of the hottest names in light heavyweight (up to 93kg.), he had already expressed interest in moving up to heavyweight (up to 120,2kg.) and challenging the champion. Now, however, he must have his third title defense in the second half of the year and has moved away from the unprecedented chance of becoming the only person in history to be champion of three different divisions within the organization.
Aspinall, in turn, is the current interim heavyweight champion and awaits the definition of the dispute between Jon Jones e Stipe Miocic to unify the titles. The Brit, known for his strength and precision in his strikes, is undefeated in the UFC and is considered one of the main candidates for the belt.
