Victim of a harsh defeat to Sean Strickland No. UFC 293, Israel adesanya behind the scenes was revealed by Ultimate while he was in the locker room being comforted by the team and family. Despite having lost the middleweight belt (up to 83,9 kg.) to his rival, the Nigerian was resilient and avoided apologies or regrets while being embraced by his team (see below).
During an interview with UFC, Adesanya stated that the feeling reflected having disappointed his people and that this was the hardest part to deal with amidst all the chaos. During recording after the setback, the cameras capture the moment in which the athlete's mother approaches and states that the fighter was prepared by the world while hugging him. In response to the consolation, Adesanya guarantees that he will turn things around and upon receiving attention from his father, the fighter says that he will regain the belt again.

In preparation for starring in UFC 305, the fighter returns to Perth, Australia and is considered a slight favorite in a duel against the South African. This could be the third time that the Nigerian has won the category title.
