Chandler rebuts Dana, accuses president of misinformation and sets up duel against McGregor in 2024

Victim of time, Michael chandler expressed irritation with Dana White's speech after the president said he was fighting against Conor McGregor wouldn't happen. Keeping an eye on the president's actions, the lightweight star (up to 70,3kg) wasted no time and responded to the statement, stating that everything depends only on the programming carried out by Ultimate until the end of 2024.

There is no reason why Conor cannot fight this year. Obviously, I could fight this year. I think obviously it all comes down to programming. December makes a lot of sense. Obviously, in November, you have MSG. It's already half full. Before that, we have Abu Dhabi. So December is that big pay-per-view card, you know, ending the year with a big pay-per-view. Chandler vs. McGregor makes a lot of sense. McGregor makes a lot of sense,” Chandler told TMZ Sports.

As he continued speaking, Michael stated that Dana is working with disinformation and recalled another occasion when the president adopted a similar stance.

“Dana, as much as we love him, he also said some things that were absolutely false in press conferences and other things, and that's his job. So sometimes saying the fight won't happen this year can mean the fight will happen this year, just like he did when I already knew I was going to fight on June 29th. He went on Pat McAfee's show, I'm about to go into fight prep and he says Conor and Chandler aren't going to fight, they're not going to fight until the end of the year, probably. So you can read between the lines, but as far as I know, these fights have a very long process of prospects to fight until the end of the year and Conor is ready. I'm ready. Let’s sign on the dotted line,” he concluded.

Previously scheduled to face each other in UFC 303, Chandler and McGregor had setbacks after the Irishman injured his little toe. Since then, both athletes have heated up their rivalry and reinforced their desire to face each other as soon as possible.
