Charles do Bronx breaks protocol and opens the door to fight with former UFC champion: 'Why not?'

Brazilian says he doesn't have a fight scheduled yet, but says 'it would be an honor' to face Alexander Volkanovski

Charles of the Bronx left UFC fans ecstatic when he opened up about his future in the Octagon. In a direct interaction with his followers on social media, the Brazilian showed interest in a fight against the former featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg), Alexander Volkanovsky, which also has no return date.

"Why not? It would be a great honor. A great fighter, a great name. So why not? Waiting to see what the UFC will bring to us,” said Do Bronx on his official Instagram account.

The Brazilian's statement lit the flame of expectation among sports enthusiasts, who already envision a duel between two of today's most popular names. At 34 years old and with extensive experience in MMA, Charles of the Bronx currently occupies second position in the ranking of the light weight category (up to 70,3kg.).

The Brazilian, who reigned between 2021 and 2022, has a record of 34 victories, being the record holder for bonuses received in the history of the UFC, and ten defeats, in addition to one fight without result. Throughout his career, he has already surpassed big names such as Dustin poirier, Justin gaethje e Michael chandler, but it comes as a setback to Arman Tsarukyan.
