Israel adesanya failed to regain the middleweight belt (up to 83,9kg) in defeat before Dricus du Plessis No. UFC 305 last Saturday (17) and suffered yet another defeat. An exclusive image published on 'X' by UFC Europe shows the moment the Nigerian is submitted, as well as the reaction of the public present.
Adesanya's defeat came in the fourth round of the fight. He exchanged blows at close range and fought closely, but he felt the blow from Dricus du Plessis before being finished with a rear naked choke. The former champion retired for the first time in his career.

According to the scores of two of the three judges, Israel also lost by two rounds to one and needed a comeback to win back, which did not happen. After the fight, still in the octagon, he took off his gloves and seemed ready to retire. However, the fighter denied the possibility and says he is already thinking about returning to the octagon.
At 35 years old, Adesanya 'hit the post' and, now, he will have to rebuild his trajectory to fulfill his dream of becoming champion again. The Nigerian, who reigned in the division between 2019 and 2022, lost by submission for the first time in his career and took off his gloves in the octagon, but will continue in action.
In his career as a professional fighter, the 'Stylebender', as he is known, has a record of 24 positive results and four negative results. He, however, has won just one of the last four clashes.
