Bantamweight (up to 61,2kg.) Casey kenney, former UFC athlete, was arrested last Friday (16) in Arizona, in the United States, on charges of kidnapping followed by assault. The fighter's arrest comes after allegations of domestic violence by his ex-girlfriend.
The accusations against Kenney came to light at the beginning of the month, when the alleged victim's mother, Esther Reyes, published a series of videos on social media denouncing the abuse suffered by her daughter. In one of the videos, Reyes shows his daughter in critical condition, with visible injuries, after an alleged attack by the fighter.

Following the allegations, authorities began an investigation and, after gathering evidence, obtained an arrest warrant for Kenney. The athlete's arrest was confirmed by Esther Reyes herself, who celebrated the court's decision.
“Casey was arrested. I received the news on Friday and was advised not to say much about it. It's amazing how people react to the news that excites me and it finally makes me feel like justice will be served. Just realizing how many people care about this and are very supportive of me and my daughter. I appreciate that and I appreciate you. So, finally, he has a restraining order and was arrested”, celebrated the mother.
The American, who was once considered one of the top names in the flyweight division (up to 56,7kg), has been away from the Octagon for three years and has no fights scheduled. Professional since 2014, he has a record of 16 positive results and four negative results.
