Victim of many attacks after press conference held this Thursday (22) to fight against Francis Ngannou at PFL, Renan Problem used social media to speak out. According to the Brazilian, at no point was there any intention to provoke his rival by referring to the death of his 15-month-old son. The repercussion was generated after the athlete said that the former UFC fighter had a 'difficult year', but that he would face bigger 'problems'.

“I saw that in the press there were completely distorted things in my speech with Francis, which I said was going to be the biggest problem of his year. But I'm talking about the fight, there's no connection to what they're saying about this personal issue, about everything he's been through now with his son. I am a father, I have children too and I would never touch on a subject as delicate as this. I would never go that low. I gave my condolences to Francis and said how sorry I was for his loss,” Renan said on his official Facebook account. Instagram.

When he continued speaking, Problema stated that he was referring to the setbacks suffered by his rival in boxing.

“Everything I talked about in the bad year that Francis has been having is about the fight. He comes from two setbacks in boxing, he has been out of action (in MMA) for two years. At no point did I want to say anything about the staff, what he went through with his son. Far be it from me. This is not in my character, I would never do something like that”, he concluded.
