The former UFC flyweight (up to 56,7 kg.), Muhammad Mokayev, was involved in a car accident this Thursday (22), on a highway in Dagestan, Russia. The fighter, who had been released by the organization after a winning streak, was on his way to visit family when he lost control of the vehicle.
The 24-year-old Russian was driving a Mercedes-AMG A 35 AMG when he left the track and fell into a ditch. Despite the scare, both Mokaev and his companion did not suffer serious injuries, according to local press reports. News of the accident comes just days after the fighter announced his return to BRAVE CF, the organization where he began his professional career.

Mokaev had been one of the highlights of the last season of the Contender Series and won seven consecutive victories in the UFC. However, behind-the-scenes problems led to his release from the organization. The fighter used social media to regret his departure and request a new opportunity, but Dana White chose not to renew his contract.
With his future uncertain in the UFC, Muhammad is now looking to restart his career in BRAVE CF. The accident, although a shock, should not hinder his plans to return to the octagons soon.
