Ankalaev denies Poatan and claims that the UFC never offered him a chance to face the Brazilian

Keeping an eye on controversial statement from Alex Poatán, Magomed Ankalayev He wasted no time and used social media to deny his rival's statements. According to the athlete from Russia, at no point did the UFC offer an opportunity for him to face the Brazilian for the light heavyweight title (up to 93kg) in his next appearance in the Octagon.

"Alex Poatán, you are a liar. You said I denied a fight against you. Dana White and Micky Maynard never offered me a fight against you. I will make you eat your words after I resolve my business”, Ankalaev fired on his official 'X' account.

In addition to the Russian, his manager Ali Abdelaziz also confirmed that representatives did not offer Ankalaev a fight to face Poatan.

“I can say that this is not true at all. I respect the guy, but that’s not what happened,” she declared.
