The impact of the announcement of Alex Poatán x Khalil rountree continues to generate exchanges of barbs between the paulista and Magomed Ankalayev on the social networks. After calling the world light heavyweight champion (up to 93 kg.) a liar, the second placed in the category ranking once again questioned the claim that he had refused the title fight.

This Tuesday (27), the combat sambo world champion once again questioned the São Paulo native in a post on X (formerly Twitter), also threatening to 'expose' the kickboxer.
“Alex Pereira, can you tell me which fight I didn’t agree to fight with you? I will knock out Rakić and then I will expose you. Mainly your chin, because it’s weak,” said Ankalaev.

At 37 years old, Poatan was champion in two weight categories at Glory, the biggest kickboxing event in the world. As an MMA fighter, the Brazilian repeated the feat in the UFC, with the middleweight (up to 83,9 kg) and light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) belts. With 46 professional fights in both disciplines, he has only three defeats by knockout, the last to Israel adesanya, in April 2023.

Despite all the rivalry, the Russian has Aleksandar Rakić as his next opponent, who is coming off a defeat to the former champion Jiri Prochazka, at UFC 308, in Abu Dhabi. Ankalaev has had just one setback in his career, and has victories over the likes of Johnny Walker, Volkan oezdemir e Anthony Smith.
